1. monolake (Berlin)

MONOLAKE LIVE reflects and presents the projects studio work. Monolake live is Robert Henke plus optional visual support by Alexej Paryla ( Video Mixing )
MONOLAKE LIVE is not meant to be a dance act, although moving people have been reported here and there.
MONOLAKE LIVE works best in a context which allows people to listen, to watch the visuals and to relax.
Places like theaters, cinemas, art galleries, empty warehouses, office buildings, TV- towers, backyards, nuclear power plants or other non-typical dance / techno locations are highly welcome.
A classical club context is fine as long as the audience is willing to enjoy excursions in non-rhythmical soudscapes as well as straight beats.

2. Janek Schaefer (London)

Janek Schaefer was born in England to Polish and Canadian parents in 1970 and graduated in architecture at the Royal College of Art in 1996. As a sound artist and musician his most notable work has been the invention of the ‘Tri-Phonic’ and ‘Twin’ turntables, alongside the exploration of new experimental ‘Eccentric’ and ‘Fragmented’ ‘vinyl cutting techniques. His ‘Recorded Delivery’ project sent a sound activated dictaphone through the post for an installation organised in a self storage centre in London. He has released CD’s and records for Fat Cat [UK], K-raa-K3 [Belgium], Hot Air [UK], and Diskono [Scotland] and is currently working on a new solo album for Sub Rosa [Belgium]. He also formed a duo with Robert Hampson in 1999 called ‘Comae’ whose debut release is due out on Rhiz records [Vienna] this year. Schaefer has toured widely performing live ‘Foundsoundscapes’ composed from the evocative, emotive and dynamic layering of abstracted textures and tones culled from ancient vinyl and manipulated field recordings. Janek was selected as 'Sound Designer of the Year' by Creative Review Magazine [UK] in 1999 and was awarded an 'Honorary Mention' at the Ars Electronica Festival [Austria] in 2001 for his album 'Above Buildings'. He works and lives in London.
