7 - 13 August 02

The implications of the play-concept are various. Play has a behavioural and a experience dimension as well as a performative dimension that can capture also abstract, non-real, fantastic ideas. The definition of play is depending on the subjective position very different. We are interested in the different concepts of artistic interpretations of the term.

rules discusses the mechanics of games. To modify rules or to set up individual rule-systems, to strictly obey or to consequent break rules as a concept of artistic action.

From playful use of traditional forms of presentation and production in art, the discussion of new playing techniques and performance models, play as interaction - between producers and recipient or producers among themselves - to the theoretical discussion of play as a motor of artistic production.
